WHY NOW?

Global demand for critical minerals is accelerating—driven by electrification, AI, and defense industry needs. At the same time, advances in subsea technology and a developing regulatory framework are enabling the responsible exploration and development of deep-sea mineral resources.

Why Eco Minerals?

We combine advanced subsea technology with a disciplined, environmentally conscious approach to exploration and future recovery. Through our NOAA license application, Eco Minerals has priority of right under U.S. law for nearly 150,000 square kilometers of known mineral rich areas of the Pacific.

Our focus is simple: precision, transparency, and long-term sustainability in everything we design and deploy.

what
we’ve
designed.

Eco Minerals has thoughtfully designed a state-of-the art mineral recovery system designed for recovery from ocean depths of over 5,000 meters deep. Eco Minerals is proud to be designing a system where environmental considerations form the basis of design.
Polymetallic nodules form over millions of years through the gradual accumulation of metal oxides around a small core on the deep ocean floor. These nodules contain valuable concentrations of manganese, nickel, cobalt, copper, and iron, making them a potential source of critical minerals for electric vehicle batteries, renewable energy infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Nodule compositions vary across different seabed regions, ranging from manganese-dominant nodules to nickel–cobalt–copper rich nodules, as well as those with mixed or transitional compositions reflecting varying  conditions across different regions.

What are
nodules?

Polymetallic nodules are naturally occurring deposits found on the ocean floor, rich in critical minerals like nickel, cobalt, and manganese.

These materials are essential to batteries, infrastructure, and next-generation technologies—yet remain largely untapped.

Eco Minerals operates within established regulatory frameworks including the Deep Seabed Hard Mineral Resources Act (DSHMRA).

Our approach prioritizes measured progress, scientific collaboration, and responsible development.

Our AUV Services.

Eco Minerals owns two HUGIN systems: a HUGIN 6000 and a HUGIN Superior. Both systems are containerized and can be deployed anywhere in the world – contact us for availability and location.
